 A good source of lecithin, riboflavin (vitamin B2), thiamin (vitamin B1), nicotinic and pantothenic acid, choline. The content of protein in chickpea seeds varies from 20.1 to 32.4%. Chickpea seeds contain a lot of phosphorus, calcium, potassium and magnesium. The content of vitamin C in chickpea seeds varies from 2.2 to 20 mg per 100 g biomass and in germinating seeds increases quickly its contents to 147.6 mg per 100 g dry matter. Depending on the grade, the fat content in seeds varies from 4.1 to 7.2% and according to this indicator chickpeas exceeds other leguminous crops except soybeans.
 Although soybean, pea and bean seeds contain more protein however it is known that nutritional value of the culture is determined not only by the amount of protein but also by its quality which depends on the balance of its amino acid composition, the content of essential amino acids, protein digestibility. According to these indicators, as well as by the number of basic essential acids - methionine and tryptophan chickpeas exceeds to other legumes.
